It’s your dancer’s chance to enjoy the spotlight with a special person in her life! Dancers and their partners have the chance to share the stage and create a memory they'll never forget.
Participants will attend at least 1 in-studio rehearsal together to learn their dance and also practice at home using a video link we'll provide. All practice classes and rehearsals are closed to everyone except the participants! Don’t worry – we’ll take good care of them, and it makes for an AWESOME surprise! Cost is $79 and registration includes a t-shirt for the participating adult, a special gift for the participant to give to their dancer, up to 2 in-studio rehearsals, and a link to the practice video. Enrollment in the dance also serves as the adult's ticket to the show. Space is extremely limited. Registration is in-studio. Due to the purchase of materials and staffing for the rehearsals, registration is non-refundable. Please note that you must be registered for the show to participate. Additionally, due to the nature of the choreography, dancers must be Bunnies, Butterflies or Ballerinas. |
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Who can be the participating adult?
Moms, dads, grandfathers, grandmothers, uncles, aunts, older brothers or sisters, or a family friend can participate! Participating adult must be at least 16 years of age.
2. How does it work with Parent Participants backstage?
Dancers check in the same way they normally would. Adult participants also go backstage before the show. We will pair your dancer with you right before the show begins.
3. Will Adult Participants still be able to watch the show?
YES! We know this is what you are here for! The Sweetheart Dance is one of the first numbers, so that adults can re-join their families in the audience. We will even give you a seat saver so that other audience members know it’s OK to save that seat!
4. What should Adult Participants wear?
Adults will be given the dress code for the performance so that everyone looks consistent. We will email you details once registered so please keep an eye out for that! You'll also be given instructions at your in-studio rehearsal.
5. What if my child doesn’t seem to want to do the dance even in practice classes?
A child’s response in class and on stage can be very different. We recommend carefully considering if your child will likely do well before registering, as the registration fee is non-refundable. It is required that children be at least 2.5 years of age to participate. The Sweetheart dance is an experience that will last a lifetime and spending time at rehearsal and working through difficult situations with your dancer is as significant as performing the actual dance.
